I first found yoga while backpacking through Australia in 2000, my first class being experienced after a HUGE spaghetti dinner-not the best introduction! Then a few years later with an unplanned move to a remote northern town, yoga found me - in need of connection. To my surprise the deepest connection I made was with myself.
Yoga introduced me to a new inner strength, flexibility, acceptance and awareness in all facets of my life, on and off the mat. My practice evolved through experimenting with different systems of yoga, and the influence of many amazing teachers that I am ever grateful for.
I completed my 200 RYT with the Canadian Yoga Alliance at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga, founded by master yogi Baba Hari Dass. My training in Classical Ashtanga and Hatha yoga gifted me with a deeper love for yoga going beyond the just the poses-Svadhyaya, Pranayama and Meditation are now a part of my daily life. I am driven by my excitement to learn, whether it be from continuing studies and workshops or from my teachers and students. Currently I am furthering my studies in Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda.
As you step onto your mat, I invite you to find your practice. Your body is as unique as you are, so let’s work towards finding your shape in each Asana (pose). We will play with fluid movement, build strength from the inside out, learn modifications, get to the root of poses, and breathe. Whatever your learning modality or your ability, there is a yoga for you!
